Good news for the Broken Arrow Blue Star Moms. Tuesday night on the News on 6, we told you about corporate sponsors backing out of the group's upcoming golf tournament fundraiser.
The Blue Star Moms work for free, trying to make things a little better for US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, but postage is expensive. Last year the tournament brought in more than $5,000, which the moms used for postage.
This year, with the event scheduled and applications mailed, their corporate sponsors, Hertz and Bethel Body Shop suddenly pulled out.
After our story aired, real estate developer Phil Roland and Arby's called the Broken Arrow Blue Star Moms. They have volunteered to help cover the costs of the tournament.
