The city of Tulsa has a new District 5 city councilor.

Republican Bill Martinson was officially sworn in Tuesday. He takes the place of Sam Roop and will represent an area ranging from Yale to Garnett, from I-244 down to 51st Street.

The election of Martinson tips the division of power on the city council - most likely away from the four councilors often criticized for upsetting the status quo.
