Ladies, would you buy a bad weather shoe cover for your best shoes if it worked and was stylish? Tulsan Steve Woodbury is betting you will. He's invented something he calls the Shoe Glove.

News on 6reporter Rick Wells shows us how it works and why the inventor thinks it will be a success.

Women's shoes can be expensive, .the more stylish, the more expensive. Bad weather can ruin a good pair of shoes in a hurry. Tulsan Steve Woodbury started looking for something to protect his wife's expensive shoes and about all he found was plastic galoshes. So he thought he’d invent something better. Steve Woodbury: “these are my prototypes."

The first one looked like surgical booties, the second did too, but it was better. The third one, he had made, was much closer to the picture he had in his head. "When I saw this one I really got excited."

So he contacted a company he found on the Internet call Protosew. From that came the finished product, the shoe glove, a slip on shoe protector, he calls it an umbrella for your shoes. He had one getting rained on right there in the kitchen, actually kept the shoe pretty dry. He says he's surveyed about 300 women and most told him they'd buy a product like the shoe glove if it were stylish and worked.

He's taking it to the invention and new products expo in Pittsburgh next month hoping to find a distributor. "What I would probably do is offer them some private labeling." In any case, he's set up to sell the shoe glove on the internet sometime later this summer, it'll come in different sizes and several different colors.
