One of the world's most famous opera singers plans to launch his farewell tour in Tulsa.

Promoters announced Monday morning that Luciano Pavarotti will perform at the Mabee Center on September 17th.

A special stage will be built for the performance and the Mabee Center will be set up as a 9,000-seat concert space. The performance will be Pavarotti's second in Tulsa.

His first was a recital at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center back in 1981.

Tickets go on sale this Saturday. They range in price from $65 to $375. For more information call 495-6000.
