McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ Authorities at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester are investigating the death of inmate who was found in a pool of blood.

An officer handing out mail found the body of 43 year old Larry Sartin Thursday night.

Sartin was serving a sentence out of Tulsa County. The Department of Corrections Web site shows previous convictions for drug violations and assault on a police officer.
