Folks wanting to lose weight are turning to a BioGenie machine

A new machine claims to eliminate entire inches of fat in just an hour. Clients say it works like magic and it seems too good to be true, but the biggest surprise about Biogenie could be that one of the few units in the country is in Broken Arrow!

News on 6 anchor Terry Hood says the BioGenie location in Broken Arrow is the only one in Oklahoma and one of only about 20 in the country.

The Spirit, Soul and Body Day Spa has been treating clients with the Biogenie technology for over a year now. Spa Manager Susan Keller says the machine liquefies fat with electric currents, then a vacuum moves the fat to "dump sites" where it leaves the body. At the same time, Keller says the electric currents "jump start" clients' metabolism, leading them to lose even more weight.

Kim Felts says from the first treatment on, she's noticed immediate change. "They noticed the clothes were starting to hang off of me. And I told them why. And they started to notice a difference in the size of me! And that's wonderful."

A full-body treatment takes about an hour and costs $150. Some clients come for treatment two and three times a week. In fact, the machine is booked through the middle of June.

The News on 6 wanted to check with a doctor about this procedure but found very few of them in Tulsa who knew anything about it or what long term effects it could have. One doctor the News on 6 talked to still says the best way to lose weight is through diet and exercise.
