McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- The state Pardon and Parole Board will hear requests for parole from 550 inmates this week, including a former death row inmate and a woman serving life for killing a classmate when she was 14.
Former death row inmate Jackie Lynn Stevenson is among those asking for parole. Stevenson was convicted and sentenced to die for the 1982 murder of Georgia Inez Manuel in McCurtain County, but his conviction was overturned.
He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison on retrial.
Also asking for parole is Robin Ratliff, who was 14 when she shot and killed 13-year-old Michelle Baccus in Catoosa in 1993. Ratliff later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
