CHOUTEAU, Okla. (AP) _ A 19 year-old Muskogee man is killed early Sunday morning when his car slides off a Mayes County road, strikes a tree and pins him inside the vehicle.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Chad Stevens was discovered trapped inside his vehicle at about 6:00 Sunday morning. The patrol believes the accident occurred sometime after 1:00 Sunday morning.
The OHP says Stevens was heading east on a county road when his 2001 Ford Focus swerved to the left and ran off the roadway. The car then slid into a tree, pinning him inside the car.
The patrol says Stevens was not wearing a seat belt.
