To wrap up "Cover the Uninsured Week", Morton's Midtown Family Health Center held a cookout for Tulsa's homeless population Friday afternoon.
Less fortunate individuals, many without any healthcare coverage, got to munch on hot dogs, chips and soda pop. Morton says residents not receiving adequate medical coverage is a growing problem.
Ida Ivey with Morton Health Services: "They're attributing the uninsured to people losing their jobs and the high price of healthcare."
Morton provides medical services to individuals who can't afford it. For more information or to set up an appointment, call 587-2171.
