Hundreds of Tulsa area faithful started their morning Thursday with a special service. They packed the Mabee Center at Oral Roberts University for the National Day of Prayer.
Thousands of churches around the country held services to pray for the country, its leaders and the troops overseas.
At the women's prayer service at ORU Thursday morning, they also remembered Evelyn Roberts, the late wife of Oral Roberts. She died Wednesday after hitting her head in a fall.
Tulsa residents of many different faiths took time out of their lunch hour Thursday as well, to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. They gathered at City Plaza in downtown Tulsa to pray.
