Every year, Goodwill Industries presents awards to those in the community who have made a difference. But this yearâ€™s annual awards luncheon was different.

That's because of the six people who received awards; one of them was honored posthumously. Brian Howard, and his mother, Michelle, were both killed in an accident last month at Tulsa's Raceway Park.

Tuesday, Brian was honored as graduate of the year by Goodwill. He was chosen for the award because despite mental challenges, he graduated from Jenks High School, entered vo-tech job training and started working soon after.

David Oliver with Goodwill Industries: "If Brian were here today, graduate of the year in a better place." Brianâ€™s father Dr Paul Howard: "I just wish Brian was here to accept it for himself."
