PITTSBURG, Kan. (AP) _ A broadcaster who hosted a morning radio show in Pittsburg, Kansas, for more than 40 years has died at a hospital.
Services are Wednesday in Pittsburg for Dan Willis, who died Sunday. He was 67.
Willis, known to listeners as ``Ol Dan,'' had been fighting cancer.
Willis was a native of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, who began his broadcasting career in 1955 while a student at John Brown University in Arkansas.
He eventually moved to the Lubbock area.
Willis helped put KUKO on the air in Post, Texas, and hosted the morning show until 1963, when he went to KCLR in Ralls, Texas.
He started broadcasting at KOAM in Pittsburg, Kansas, in 1964.
