OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma is helping fifth-graders get in shape and learn more about the state.
Governor Brad Henry signed House Bill 1647, the "Oklahoma Kids Fitness Challenge Act" in to law.
The bill was prompted by fifth-graders at Bridge Creek Elementary.
Students mapped out a five-mile route on a state map and then took virtual walking tours of areas, learning the geography and history of the various locations.
The law takes effect July 1st.
