Six in the Morning anchor LeAnne Taylor is among those honored Tuesday by the Association for Women in Communications.

LeAnne is the recipient of a newsmaker award at the organization's luncheon at the Renaissance Hotel. In addition to her work on Six In The Morning, LeAnne was recognized for her effots to promote more public awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Also honored Tuesday, state representative Jari Askins and civil rights advocate, The Reverend Leslie Penrose. Cecille Bales received the lifetime achievement award for her contributions to the advertising industry.
