The "Oklahoma loves GM" campaign started Thursday and Friday, love from Detroit.
The layoffs at the Oklahoma City GM plant that were supposed to start in June, have been postponed. A GM spokesman in Michigan tells the News on 6 that the layoffs of workers at the plant have been postponed for the time being.
That's welcome news for more than 800 workers on the second shift. GM had announced in March that depressed market conditions made it necessary to layoff the shift in late June. But GM spokesman Nancy Sarpolis says a recent market analysis has determined that there is sufficient demand for the vehicles made in Oklahoma to keep the shift working longer than anticipated.
Plant workers were told of the postponement Friday morning
