ENID, Okla. (AP) _ Members of a 27-person delegation from Enid say they're optimistic about the future of Vance Air Force Base after meetings with Pentagon officials.

City and state officials are working to keep Vance and other Oklahoma military installations off the next list of bases to be closed or realigned.

Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce President Jon Blankenship says US Navy and Air Force officials both complimented the city's efforts to work with and improve Vance.

The Enid delegation is to meet with the Oklahoma congressional delegation before returning to Oklahoma.
