An investigation is underway into what caused a close call for a Continental Airlines jet experiencing mechanical problems at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City.

The pilot of the airplane reported seeing an indicator light showing the nose landing gear on the jet was locked. The jet was carrying about 100 passengers.

After circling the airport and burning off fuel, the captain says the indicator light stopped flashing and the plane's landing gear was safe to use.

The plane safely landed just before 5 PM Tuesday.
