When military reserves are called up it's a big adjustment for their families and a challenge for employers.

Shel Cox is leaving in a few weeks for a year long deployment. He's in the Navy Reserves and will likely head to the Persian Gulf. Cox nominated his boss at the Turley Correctional Center for the "My Boss is a Patriot" award. He says his boss, Donald Montgomery, understands the demands on military men and women and is very supportive.

Montgomery says he was surprised by the recognition. "These people right now are putting their lives on the line for us and any support, any additional support that we as a company and we as a facility can do, we're willing to do that."

Service members can nominate their bosses. You can get details at < a href="https://www.esgr.org/members/onlineForms.asp?c=formMBIAP.asp" Target="_new">www.esgr.org.
