GRAND LAKE, Okla. (AP) -- A former TV Guide executive is buying the recreational resort Shangri La at Monkey Island for about $5-million.

Peter Boylan the third of Tulsa confirms he's bought the resort that includes two 18-hole golf courses, a golf pro shop, a lodge and recreation and convention centers. He says the resort will remain semi-private.

Boylan is the former co-president, co-chief operating officer and a member of the board of directors of Gemstar, the parent company of TV Guide.
