The Transport Workers Union is making plans for a new headquarters building in Tulsa. Thursday, the ground was broken on East Pine.
It will cost more than $2-million and provide more than 8,000 square feet of office space. The union's president says it's proof of their commitment to the members and the city of Tulsa.
Dennis Barchette: "I think this sends a message to our members that we're in this for the long haul. We're going to be here. It also, I hope sends a message to the community of Tulsa that we appreciate the sacrifices that they made to keep the jobs here through Vision 2025."
The union's current building will be renovated into a new meeting hall.
