OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A rookie Nolan Ryan baseball card and hundreds of other items will be sold by the state to the highest bidder next week.
More than 170 plastic bags of items that were left in unclaimed safe deposit boxes will be auctioned.
The auction will be held at 10 AM on April 15th at Dakil Auctioneers in Oklahoma City. The items can be viewed an hour before the auction.
Money raised from the auction will be held in trust for the owners or their heirs.
State law requires banks to bring abandoned safe deposit boxes after five years to the state treasurer, who then advertises information in newspapers and on the Internet.
The treasurer's office also displayed some items that will be available for the next state auction, expected in a few years. They included two unused tickets to the Woodstock musical festival of 1969 and a first edition of Rolling Stone magazine that had John Lennon on the cover.
