The extensive and expensive damage from hail across central and south Tulsa. The storm blew through Tuesday and Wednesday insurance adjusters were busy seeing a flood of claims.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says it's so early in the process, that it will be a long time before the full cost of the damage is known, but if you consider that many cars have thousands of dollars in damage, it's going to be an expensive storm.
Every green circle on this car is a dent. And every one of them represents at least $40 of damage no matter how it's repaired - in this case, with broken glass that hail stones actually penetrated, it adds up to about $4,500.
Chris Harris with Hourglass Collision Repair has been writing estimates all morning at hourglass collision. Harris says the worst damage he has seen was to cars from 71st and Lewis. Those are the ones that have more a dozen dents and smashed windshields - indicating hail as big as tennis balls.
The hail seemed to cause the most damage in central and south Tulsa - from Lewis over to Memorial, from 11th down to 91st, with the worst damage on the southwest side.
