CAMPTI, Texas (AP) _ A convicted killer who disappeared in 1994 with the wife of an Oklahoma assistant warden is now back in Oklahoma after waiving extradition from Texas.
A spokesman for the state Corrections Department says Randolph Dial arrived at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester at 4 Wednesday morning. Spokesman Jerry Massie says Dial was placed in the prison's top-security unit.
Dial was arrested Sunday at a mobile home in east Texas where he was living with Bobbi Parker, the wife of assistant warden Randy Parker.
In a jailhouse interview Dial said he took Parker at knifepoint when he escaped from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite ten years ago. He says their relationship was never romantic and they lived in separate rooms.
Dial says he told Parker if she tried to escape he'd get away and make her and her family regret it. He says he didn't mean it -- but says Parker didn't know that.
Bobbi and Randy Parker have since reunited and plan to return to Oklahoma.
