OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Lottery experts from Tennessee and New Mexico offer their advice Tuesday to members of the newly formed Oklahoma Lottery Commission.
The Oklahoma panel is searching for an executive director to head its new statewide education lottery.
Rebecca Paul -- the head of the Tennessee Education Lottery -- told members an executive director will need to hire lottery staffers and prepare requests for proposals for lottery merchants.
Paul says every day tickets aren't sold, as much as $500,000 is lost for education.
Officials say the state began advertising for an executive director in trade magazines earlier this month and has received as many as 15 applications. Oklahoma Lottery Commission chairman James Orbison says officials will begin reviewing applications this week.
