STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ New Oklahoma State coach Kurt Budke begins assembling his staff his first day on the job Monday.
Budke announced the hiring of associate head coach Jim Littell and assistant coach Miranda Serna.
Littell joins the Cowgirls from Seward County, Kansas, Community College, where he had a 453-and-59 record the last 14 seasons as the head women's basketball coach. Littell's 2002 team won the National Junior College Athletic Association's national title. Last season, the Lady Saints were 35-and-3 and finished fifth in the NJCAA tournament.
Serna spent the past season on Budke's staff at Louisiana Tech and also has been an assistant at Fresno State, Chicago State and Long Beach State. She played on Budke's 1996 national championship team at Trinity Valley Community College and was an assistant coach on his 1999 national championship team at the school.
