The state Office of Juvenile Affairs is going to put up a state of the art security fence at the Rader Center west of Sand Springs.

Eleven escapes from the center since 2004 prompted officials to request funding for the new fence. It will be an arched perimeter fence designed to make it difficult to grip and hard jump over.

Friday, the Office of Juvenile Affairs broke gound on the new fence and they say they're very excited about imporvements to the entire facility. Jimmy Martin with the Rader Center: "you never want to say never but hopefully it will completely eliminate our escapes or escape attempts."

The state legislature has already appropriated funds to upgrade several things at the center including the locks and doors throughout the facility.
