OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A white professor who says she was racially discriminated against by historically black Langston University says she's not likely to accept a negotiated settlement of her claim.
English professor Barbara Craig says she's been paid less than her black colleagues and that black professors were given preferential treatment.
The US Department of Justice and Langston have agreed to settle the claim for just under $30,500 and Craig would get a raise to more than $52,000 a year.
But Craig says she thinks injustice she's suffered is so severe that the settlement is not adequate and she may reject it and file a federal lawsuit.
Another white Langston worker sued Langston for discrimination last year and won nearly $300,000.
