A man and woman from Newkirk are accused of starving their teenage son. Prosecutors in Kay County say Charles and Tricia Miller starved the 15-year-old boy for three months, only giving him an occasional sandwich.

The boy also says he would sometimes cook a big meal for his dad and step-mom, which would then send him to his room and not allow him to eat any of it. The Miller's deny the accusations.

The boy's real mom says he was starved as punishment for misbehaving. Charity Cantrell: “he and his wife destroyed my child now I have to rebuild his entire life and let him know he's safe."

The boy is getting better. Prosecutors say he gained 24 pounds after moving in with his biological mother.
