DURANT, Okla. (AP) -- A Bryan County jailer who was overpowered by three inmates who escaped on February 11th has been fired for failing to follow jail policy.
Jail officials say Andrew Dickmeyer did not lock down a cell block when an inmate called him on an intercom and was outnumbered by 17 inmates.
Three inmates escaped, including suspected killer Kevin Cross, who remains at large.
The other two inmates who escaped were recaptured hours after the escape.
