SPRINGER, Okla. (AP) Firefighters from 11 departments and the Arkansas State Forestry Department have trouble containing a fire near the Arbuckle Mountains in south-central Oklahoma.
Fire Information Officer Brian Scott says there have been no injuries reported and no structures were threatened by yesterday's blaze, but about a thousand acres were scorched.
Earlier Thursday, the fire had caused the south and northbound lanes of Interstate 35 at US 77 to be closed. Scott says those lanes were reopened Thursday night.
