OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Electricity generated from wind power is proving popular in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Gas and Electric has sold all of its available wind-generated power and now has more than 1,300 customers on a waiting list to join the program.
OG&E spokeswoman Sondra Longcrier says most of those who signed up first for wind power were likely more interested in the environmental aspects. Now she says customers are finding out they can also save money on their electric bills.
OG&E says the increasing interest is one reason it decided to build a new 120-megawatt wind farm north of Woodward where it already has a 50-megawatt facility.
