A follow up to a story that was first broadcast three years ago. A jury has awarded $5-million in damages to a former Hillcrest heart surgeon who claimed his reputation was damaged by another heart surgeon.
Doctor Arshad Yousuf had sued Doctor George Cohlmia claiming Cohlmia had made allegations questioning Yousuf's treatment of two Hillcrest patients who died after heart surgery in 2002.
Yousuf, who now practices medicine in Washington, D.C., claimed the allegations damaged his career and income. The jury found that Doctor Cohlmia acted recklessly and intentionally.
