A future library at LaFortune Park in Tulsa needs more bucks in the bank. The library trust kicked off a fundraising campaign Thursday to finish the project.
Administrators say they've outgrown a temporary library location at 51st and Memorial. Tulsa City-County Library CEO Linda Saferite: "this library is very critical. We're in a facility without a meeting room, we have limited space, yet we have so many children we are serving in this neighborhood. So this library is going to be a tremendous asset to this part of town."
Officials want to open the new library near 53rd and Hudson by late 2007. The library is going in next to a new community center which is a Vision 2025 project.
