OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The twin brother of former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating announced Tuesday his plans to run for state treasurer.

A longtime Tulsa banker, Daniel Keating held press conferences in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Lawton to announce his plans to run.

He will seek to oust current Treasurer Scott Meachum, who was appointed to the position in May after Robert Butkin resigned to become dean of the University of Tulsa law school.

The 61-year-old Keating is currently the director of Summit Consolidated Group, a Dallas-based insurance and brokerage firm.
