Despite some much needed rain over the weekend, Oklahoma is still under a burn ban. And now, local authorities are cracking down on violators.
Sheriff's offices in 20 northeastern Oklahoma counties have issued nearly 100 citations to residents for violating the ban. Creek County leads the way in citations with 18.
Under the burn ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited. Fines range from $500 to a year in prison.
