OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The westbound lanes of Interstate-44 at Belle Isle have been reopened after an accident on the highway left two men dead this morning.
The men were headed westbound on the highway in a semi when the driver lost control of the truck on the slick roads.
He struck a pole and the truck fell off the bridge about 20 feet and then caught fire.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials say the driver, a 51 year-old from Buena Park, California, was speeding. His name has not been released.
The passenger was 47 year-old Ricardo Martinez of Alta Loma, California.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.
ODT spokeswoman Brenda Perry says the off-ramp from I-44 to the Northwest Expressway will remain closed until Monday afternoon.
