OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Six Flags is leaving Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma City-based amusement park owner said Friday it will move its corporate offices to New York and sell White Water Bay and Frontier City amusement parks in Oklahoma City.

Six Flags President Mark Shapiro says the move is part of an effort to improve the value for shareholders and to reduce the company's debt.

Six Flags has 37 employees at its corporate offices in Oklahoma City and 40 more at Frontier City and White Water Bay. The company also has a small corporate presence in Grand Prairie, Texas.
