Every year, Tulsa Police get thousands of calls for help from people attacked in the one place they should feel the safest, their homes.

Now victims of domestic violence have a new place to turn. At the new Family Safety Center, they can get all the help they need. With help from a federal grant, 8 different agencies work together under one roof to provide services from filing a protective order, to counseling, to legally documenting abuse.

Gloria Estlin with the Family Safety Center: "We think we have all the basic necessities of getting them through the next interval of their life and hopefully make that less stressful."

The Family Safety Center opens in a few days. It's located at 3010 South Harvard in Tulsa. The phone number is 742-7480.
