What do a nurse, a bow hunter, and a retired grandmother have in common? They all want to be the next contestant on the hit CBS show Survivor.
News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca has more on Tuesday's open casting call in Tulsa.
More than 100 wannabes showed up Tuesday for the open casting call and a chance to become the next Survivor champion. Everyone, from mechanics, to flight attendants, hopped in front of a camera to record a 2-minute tape and take a step closer to winning $1-million.
The key for some contestants, was to make themselves stand out from the rest of the crowd. Debbie came armed with a strategy and a crossbow. "This kind of shows part of who I am, I do actually hunt and fish and so this is something they'd hopefully let me bring with me."
Another contestant is a nurse. She bared her soul and a bikini top, in the hopes of making it on the show.
Then there is Frances. She's tired of seeing all these young contestants and wants to see someone a little older on the show. “They're all so young! They wear these teenie-weenie bikinis and they're all so pretty! You need real people, like me!†All that energy might get Frances on the show and a million dollars richer.
All the audition tapes will be sent to the producers of Survivor 13. We don’t know yet where the next Survivor will be taped, but hopefully we'll have another Green Country contestant on the show.
