TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- The Broadway musical about famed Oklahoma humorist and philosopher Will Rogers is back in the Sooner state.
The fifth national tour of "The Will Rogers Follies" returned to Oklahoma yesterday, with performances scheduled through Sunday in Oklahoma City and January 24th and 29th in Tulsa.
The musical is set on the stage of the "Ziegfield Follies" and tells the life story of the plainspoken, trick-roping cowboy turned vaudeville star, newspaper columnist and radio pundit.
Larry Gatlin -- who rose to country music stardom with his brothers in the trio The Gatlin Brothers -- is back in the title role.
The original production opened on Broadway in 1991 for 982 performances and won six Tony awards.
