Federal prison officials are staying tight lipped about the release of Oklahoma City bombing co-conspirator Michael Fortier.

Bombing survivors and relatives of victims were sent a letter from the Bureau of Prisons saying Fortier will be set free on Friday.

Wednesday, his attorney, Michael McGwire talked to the News on 6 about the release. He says he feels for the bombing victims, but his client has served his time honorably. Michael McGwire: "He has been accountable and responsible and done everything above and beyond what he was supposed to do and has never received the credit that he deserved for his participation and help in prosecution of the bombing cases."

Fortier was sentenced to 12 years in 1998, after a jury convicted him of knowing about the bombing but not telling anyone about it. He's served almost ten years of that sentence and is being released for "good time credit."

He will still serve three years of supervised probation.
