LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- About 300 soldiers from the US Army's Third Battalion, 13th Field Artillery, have returned to Fort Sill after a one-year deployment to Iraq.

Colonel David Haught says he can't think of a better way to start a New Year than by welcoming the troops home.

Haught says there is more than 2,800 Corps Artillery soldiers deployed and more deployments are expected.
