Tulsa's political season is officially off and running.
Among those filing for Mayor is Oklahoma Commerce and Tourism Secretary Kathy Taylor. She'll resign that job and run for mayor as a Democrat.
Taylor says she made a last minute decision when Mayor Bill LaFortune failed to take action on a deal to bring a major employer to town.
She'll face Don McCorkell Jr[pictured] in the March 7th primary. McCorkell also filed on the first day. He's among four Democrats in the race.
Mayor Bill LaFortune filed for re-election. There are at least two other Republicans in the primary. And one city councilor also officially announced he'd be running. One name being withdrawn for consideration is city councilor Tom Baker. He had shown interest in the race but now says he throws his support to Kathy Taylor.
Candidates have until 5 PM Wednesday to file at the Tulsa County Election Board office. The general election is April 4th.
