HITCHCOCK, Okla. (AP) _ A 42-year-old Watonga woman was killed after being struck by a pickup truck along State Highway 8 near Hitchcock.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Etta Lorraine Wood was crouched down along the side of the road about 6:30 last night when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by Ralph Schultz of Okeene.

Wood was taken by helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, where she was pronounced dead. Schultz and a passenger in his pickup weren't injured.
