OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State officials are trying to find out if any Hurricane Katrina evacuees living in Oklahoma are registered sex offenders.
Wade Horn with the Health and Human Services Department says he's very concerned that sex offenders may take advantage of their new-found anonymity and harm children.
State officials say they'll ask the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a list of hurricane evacuees who applied for assistance in Oklahoma. The names on the list will be compared with sex offender lists from Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi.
