Another win for a lesbian couple fighting to have their marriage recognized by the Cherokee Nation.
The tribe's high court has ruled a group of Cherokee Nation council members lack standing in their effort to stop Kathy Reynolds and Dawn Mckinley from filing their marraige certificate. The couple held a marriage ceremony in 2004.
Two different lawsuits have attempted to stop them from filing their marriage certificate but now both lawsuits have failed.
The couple is still trying to decide if and when they'll try to file the certificate now.
