Two bodies found in a Tulsa apartment

Tulsa Police detectives are busy searching for leads in a double homicide. Police found the bodies in the 2400 block of East 51st Street in Tulsa around lunchtime on Wednesday.

News on 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright was at the scene and says an open window on the second story is eventually what led to the discovery of two women's bodies inside the apartment. One is in her mid-40's, the other in her mid-50's.

Worried neighbors notified Tulsa Police. Tulsa Police detective Roger Smith: "Some of the residents here were trying to contact their neighbors had been knocking on the door and there was no answer." Detectives aren't ready to say who the victims are or how they were killed, but say there's no mistaking it was a violent death and this is a homicide scene. "Inside the apartment, looks like there was a struggle, yes."

Police suspect the women's deaths might be drug related and are looking for anyone who has seen them since 10 o'clock Tuesday night, the last time anyone so far, as reported seeing them alive. "We'll canvass the neighborhood and see who last had contact with them and when that contact was."

Tulsa Police already have a line on a possible suspect in this case. They do not believe it's a random killing, but specific to these two women.

Tulsa had 61 homicides last year and detectives have solved 78 percent of them and that's even though there are just six detectives and they work all other violent crimes like shootings, stabbings and kidnappings, as well.
