OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting death that apparently resulted from an argument about a car.
Kiabi Wilkerson, 29, is being held on a complaint of first-degree murder in the Wednesday shooting death of Angela T. Hope, 40.
With her lawyer, Wilkerson surrendered to police Thursday night at the Detective Division in down town Tulsa.
Hope was shot in the living room of a home at about 5 p.m. Wednesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
Witnesses told police that before the shooting they saw a gold Ford Five Hundred with three women inside pull up in front of the house.
They said Wilkerson was the front-seat passenger and that they saw her pull out a chrome pistol and shoot at the residence, an arrest report shows.
Several shell casings from a small-caliber handgun were recovered from the street. Hope was struck by the gunfire as she stood behind a glass storm door.
Witnesses said the women fled in the car, which they said was driven by Commencia Foster, 28. Detective Vic Regalado said Foster is considered a ``person of interest'' and that police want to talk to her about the shooting.
Hope apparently was not the shooter's intended target, he said.
Hope's sister apparently was having an argument with the shooter about a car, and she stepped outside the house, Regalado said.
Witnesses said the passenger shot at her but that a bullet struck Hope as she stood in the doorway. After the women fled, police officers found a Ford Five Hundred behind Wilkerson's residence.
The car had been stolen from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Regalado said.
Anyone who knows Foster's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. Callers can be anonymous. The Crime Commission offers rewards for information that leads to arrests.
