A Tulsa murder victim's family held a memorial for her Friday. The family wanted to honor Adriane Barker, even as Tulsa Police continue to search for her body.
News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan says the family filed in for a funeral - with nothing more than a picture at the front of the church. It was a chance for the family to reflect on the positives of Adriane's life.
Adriane's father is a minister. He presided at his daughter's funeral and didn't gloss over her troubles.
Adriane was 26 when she was last seen December 8th, at a house near 56th and Yale. Tulsa Police detectives found three people who said they saw her murdered and all said Douglas Ashworth, is the one who shot her. He's in the Tulsa County jail and police say he confessed, but said he didn't know where they could find Adriane's body.
At the memorial service Friday afternoon, the family showed photographs of Adriane with her little girl and her family.
Adriane's grandfather says the family decided to go ahead with a service to thank the people who have reached out to them. If and when Adriane's body is found, she will be buried in Massachusetts, where her baby daughter lives with Adriane's mother.
The Tulsa Police detective on the case told the News on 6, they have no new information on the location of Adriane's body, but they are still hopeful. They want anyone with information on the case to call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
