Some Tulsa children got the chance to get up close and personal with the Tulsa Oilers hockey team Thursday.
Members of the Tulsa area Down Syndrome Association visited the Oilers during a practice at the Tulsa Convention Center. The kids got to meet the players, tour the locker room and even get on the ice.
Beth Soderfelt with the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa: "Our kids are very much like other children, they enjoy sports, they enjoy being with people. Events like this help us show people that."
The Tulsa Oilers team up with the Down Syndrome Association at their February 4th game and will donate $4 from every ticket sold online or over the phone to the organization.
